They have a new DVD/CD released in early August of 2004 titled Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Live. It includes a bonus documentary (The Early Years) and their 16 song concert at the infamous Ventura Theatre.
Haven't heard Big Bad Voodoo Daddy? Maybe you have. American gold medalist, all-around, gymnast Carly Patterson used their song Mr. Pinstripe Suit for her floor routine in the 2004 Olympics. Their music also appeared in the film Swingers.
These California swing kings have outlasted the pack of bands who jumped on board the swing genre fad. The Voodoo Daddys keep it fresh by constantly writing new tunes, delivering a high energy stage show and because this is genuinely their favorite style of music.
The Big Bad Voodoo Daddys have toured Denmark, Germany, London, Scandinavia, Austria and Italy. They have two Washington state shows in September. The first is Fri., Sept. 24th at Tacoma's Broadway Center PAC and the second is north in Whatcom County at the Mt. Baker Theatre the next day, Sept. 25th.
Bellingham's historic Mount Baker Theatre should provide an ideal setting to enjoy the swing band. It's ornate ceilings come very close to duplicating the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's new CD cover and the beauty of the venue will add another timeless element to their performance.
