| I just attended the Katz Coffee and Used Books Open Mic, located at 515 Front Street, Lynden, WA and was pleased at the reception I received from a mostly younger crowd (under 21 years). The Open Mic is hosted on the first and third Friday of the month from 7:30pm-9:30pm. Other weekend nights at Katz feature booked acts from acoustic to electric to poetry readings. A small PA is provided, and the helpful staff of Katz Coffee keep things dialed and running. It is a comfortable setting, and I was welcomed with an appreciative audience. I am told there are forty to fifty people there on average, but I experienced fewer due to the Lynden football game being played that night. I encourage musicians to turn out and support this venue, enjoy the small town feel of downtown Lynden with a business that supports the arts. |
