   Musical icon Long John Baldry passed away on July 21, 2005 in British Columbia, Canada. Deep thanks were expressed by his family and friends to the staff at Vancouver General Hospital for the care and love they gave Baldry. Staff in the Hospitals Intensive Care Unit, with special mention given to Deb Hamilton and Susanna, were noted as providing dignity and peace to Johns passing.

      A number of memorials and tributes are planned expressing  respect and admiration for both the man and his music.

Radio Tributes:
     Skagit Valley Colleges Thursday Blues Show will air a live tribute show of Long John Baldry on Thursday, July 28th from 8-10pm at 91.7 fm on your radio dial. The program can also be listened to live on the stations
live webcast for those who have a high speed internet connection. Friends of Baldry have opened their record libraries to host Mojo Mike to offer an evening from the catalogue of Long John Baldry releases. There are several interviews planned, including one with longtime musician friend Kathi McDonald and Mount Vernon music collector Marc 'Zappa' Daniels. Listeners can participate in the show live, or request specific songs by calling 360-416-7000 during the broadcast.

     CBC Radio 1 also has a Long John Baldry tribute show earlier that same day, Thursday, July 28th,  beginning at 3:30pm. This radio program will be a rebroadcast of his 2001 Maple Ridge Jazz & Blues Festival. His band members Tom Knowles, Tony Robertsonn, John Lee Sanders and Al Webster are included in this recording.

Memorial Service:
     A memorial tribute to the memory of John Baldry will be held on Granville Island on Sunday, July 31st at the Arts Club Theatre. Doors open at 6:15pm with the service beginning at 7pm. A reception will be held in the lounge after the service, everyone is welcome.

Baldry Release by Warner Bros UK:
    A September 2005 release of classic Long John Baldry recordings (It Ain't Easy and Everything Stops for Tea) has been confirmed by Warner Bros UK.
