Valentines Night at
The Wild Buffalo,
Tues., Feb. 14
Folks arriving for dinner at the Wild Buffalo (from 4pm to 9pm) will be delighted to find some Valentines Dinner specials (see menu details at the bottom of this page) on the on the venues menu. As an added treat, acoustic musicians will be performing live blues (both "I love you so" and "he did me wrong" varieties) from 6pm to 8pm in the front window of the Wild Buffalo.
The second Tuesday of every month is always the Buffalo Blues Invitational hosted by Laurette Langille from 8pm until midnight. Owner John Goodman thought the evenings electric blues would actually be a great fit on a Tuesday Valentines Night. Isn't dinner and dancing the ideal Valentines date? The blues jam is just as good a fit for the "Valentines Day? Bah! Humbug!" folks, too. It's a great chance to get out of the house, hear some exciting live blues music, dance, enjoy a good drink and conversation with fellow blues fans...and, who knows? Maybe even meet a surprise Valentine.
Each month the Buffalo Blues Invitational brings a special guest star into the house band for the night and Tuesday, February 14th is no exception. Versatile vocalist and guitarist Ed Solem will be the featured blues artist. Ed Solem is a strong frontman and has been a popular act at various shows throughout Whatcom and Skagit Couties. While many lead guitarists count themselves rhythm guitar players also, Ed Solem truly excels at both. Even behind his own vocals, Solems guitar parts are intricate, linear and articulate. When you couple Solem with bassist Jim Carrington, get ready to experience fabulous tight harmonies from a lifetime of different musical projects the two have collaborated on.
Performers are being lined up for this Buffalo Blues Invitational Valentines event now. Musicians should know that we're wiping the musician slate clean when the 8pm electric Blues Invitational begins. This means you can participate in the acoustic portion of the show without worrying about losing your turn on the electric jam stage.
