Welcome to the Blues Lamp, where Northwest Washington State blues events,  artists and more are highlighted. From Bellingham blues to Mount Vernon blues, Anacortes blues to Marysville blues, mojo's workin' in  Whatcom, Skagit, Island and Snohomish counties. We got the blues.

Wild Buffalo Blues Invitational Jam Every Tuesday in August 2007

If your legs are exhausted from hiking around the summer's numerous outdoor festivals, you enjoy a daily shower and never want to go camping again, find your blues entertainment on Tuesday nights at the Wild Buffalo Blues Invitational Jam. Every Tuesday night from 8pm to midnight you can enjoy FREE live blues from a broad ensemble of blues musicians. Every show is a bit different as the house band trio includes one different player each week to keep things fresh.    If you want to participate just show up before 8pm to play blues specifically. Invited performers have priority but usually blues host/musician  Laurette Langille is able to include everyone during the show. It's not a showcase, it's a blues jam so be daring and take your turns with musicians who aren't in your band!   The Wild Buffalo is located in downtown Bellingham at 208 W. Holly next door to the Musicians Center.    For information call 360-752-0848.

Blues Guitarist Gypsy Lou takes a turn in the house band at the Wild Buffalo Blues Invitational this Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007....a few weeks later he'll be off to Thailand traveling again!

Festival of the River Celebrates Summer of Love Aug. 11

The Festival of the River occurs over the weekend, Aug. 11-12, but the really impressive San Francisco musician line-up is on Saturday beginning around 4pm (in no particular order) Jefferson Starship Big Brother & Holding Company Quicksilver Messenger Service Music of "It's a Beautiful Day with David & Linda La Flamme Grateful Dead's Tom Costantine There are lots of other bands performing both days, find out all the important details at www.festivaloftheriver.com

Manuel Morias is included in the house band at the Tues., Aug. 21st Buffalo Blues Invitational.
