Bellingham Moose Lodge members, blues musicians and dancers gathered on June 10th for "A Blues Benefit for a Ballerina".

Well, after a day to rest and reflect, and hear from family and friends, what a great night at the Moose Club. The music was wonderful, starting with Marvin J on piano and vocals doing a dinner music set, tasteful and entertaining.

The audience was treated to a short performance of Tempeste and friends showing their ballet training and what a great investment this fundraiser is in her future.

Backbeat Revival played a great set of tunes. The comment I heard was where can I get a CD of them (please, let us know if there are any promotional CD's available).

A pork loin dinner sold out to the lucky people who came early and hungry, with all the proceeds going to the cause (food and labor was donated).

Thanks to all who donated items for the auction, and all the people who bid on them. I myself got into a bidding war with my wife for the Mary Mcpage signed CD's (I'm listening to them now.) A signed Bo Diddley album, large watercolor paintings by Tempeste's aunt, many cool items.

Daddy Treetops headlined the dance music set and got the audience movin' and groovin' till closin'.

It was a night to go down in history. The fundraising goal was exceeded, the musicians enjoyed themselves (including those who didn't play, but showed up for support) and the audience went home with an experience to talk about for many years.

Backbeat Revival had the opening electric blues band slot, then most of the new band stuck around to
support and enjoy the rest of the event.

The audience enjoyed the diverse evenings entertainment, ranging from classical ballet to a lively auction to swampy electric blues.
